The Mumbai Independent Film Festival is an ultimate gathering of original storytellers and audiences seeking new voices and fresh perspectives. Started in 2021 the festival is receiving all-round appreciation from the industry, on event management, screening of selected creative films, and its wide media and promotion reach to relevant audiences all over India.

The aim of Mumbai Independent Film Festival is to raise awareness and promote independent cinema in all its forms of art, entertainment and as an industry. The festival’s objective is to give momentum to independent cinema & to foster the growth of a new generation of filmmakers.

Hereby, the festival’s initiative is proposed to enhance the cultural and social views and ideology for people’s welfare in adapting to the evolving society.

The Mumbai Independent Film Festival provides a supportive program to encourage the youth culture to explore, reflect, interpret, and creatively process the demands of a challenging new world.

The festival conducts special online sessions for emerging filmmakers, actors, and technicians on various topics. The physical screening of a few selected films on various topics by budding and established film makers provides a platform for film makers and audiences to interact on a one-to-one basis. Master classes on various topics of filmmaking helps future filmmakers/actors/technicians to understand the craft and the process of film making in a detailed manner.

Mumbai Independent Film Festival is specially designed for independent filmmakers who would like to present their creativity with an understanding that the work is submitted to a jury comprising of actors, producers, filmmakers & independent scriptwriters. As the festival is organised to promote the upcoming filmmakers from various genres, we’ve kept the entry fee reasonable.

You are welcome to submit your current project(s) in multiple categories classified as Films based on duration (qualifies to compete for film and crew awards), Actors (qualifies to compete for cast/performer awards) and Screenplay/Script (qualifies to compete for screenplay/script awards).
