Haril Shukla, a national award-winning filmmaker, has been active in the entertainment industry for the past 29 years. He is actively involved in the development of the Indian cinema industry as Director of the Mumbai Independent Film Foundation. The foundation organises an acclaimed and popular film festival in Mumbai every year since 2021.
He served on the preview committee panels (International Cinema and Web Series) for the 54th, 55th, and 56th editions of the International Film Festival of India, which is organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
Haril's short film "U Turn" advocating women's empowerment won a Special Mention award from the National Human Rights Commission (Govt. of India), as well as other national and international recognition. He was a key faculty member at ICE (Institute for Creative Excellence), a Balaji Telefilms project.
He began as a Production Manager and worked his way up to Head of Production at prestigious companies including Network 18, Miditech, and ZEE TV Network. To satiate his artistic desires, he pursued a career in direction, working as a Director/Creative Director for companies such as Ventures Direct Television and Creative Channel. Throughout his artistic career, he has directed countless travel shows, chat shows, cookery shows, fashion programs, serials, over 200 documentaries, and short films on a wide range of national and social issues.
Arhima Sharma is an Indian filmmaker and the Co-Founder & Festival Director of the Mumbai Independent Film Foundation and the Mumbai Independent Film Festival, an initiative dedicated to creating space for independent voices and redefining the contours of contemporary Indian cinema.
Her work first drew international attention with the Marathi feature Aaron, selected by the Government of Maharashtra for screening at the Cannes Film Festival, where she served as Associate Producer and represented the state on a global stage. Over the past decade, she has moved fluidly between large-scale productions and independent storytelling, contributing to projects such as Emergency (Manikarnika Films), Akka (Yash Raj Films), Jubilee (Reliance Entertainment), and Jug jugg Jeeyo (Dharma Productions).
Her practice extends across fiction, non-fiction, and large-format, television, with collaborations spanning studios such as Fremantle India and Essel Vision Productions. Her short film U Turn, recognized by the National Human Rights Commission of India, reflects a continuing engagement with socially rooted narratives, while her documentary work for the Government of India further underscores a commitment to stories grounded in lived realities.
